Support Groups may be a wonderful way to take care of yourself. Support Groups provide an opportunity for you to connect with and be supported by others with similar issues. The groups offered by SAC&SC are co-facilitated and last 12 weeks.
We are currently running a support group based on the T.R.E.M. (Trauma, Recovery, and Empowerment Model). This educational group is
approximately 33 weeks. Please call if you are interested in finding out more about this group.
We are also looking at starting an experiential support group. The idea behind this type of support group is gaining empowerment and recovery through group experiences. For example, Art therapy, going to the movies, seminars, walking dogs, going to or taking part in plays, etc. Creating a bond and empowerment by trying new things as a group.
We are always taking names for other support groups, such as male sexual abuse survivors, non-offending parents support group, etc. To find out more and sign up for a group, please call Annmarie at (207)626-3425, 338-4622, or 594-8580.
